Welcome to the website for Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo. Palo Santo is a group of dancers and musicians in the Pioneer Valley region of Western Massachusetts that is dedicated to the study, performance and teaching of Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and music.

Our activities are currently focused on two areas. We offer an ongoing, open class in Afro-Cuban Folkloric Dance which has been running continuously since September 2006. We also have a performance group which spent much of its first year developing a repertoire; and made its debut in a series of performances during the Autumn of 2007.

Spring & Summer Schedule

The Afro-Cuban Folkloric Dance Class will continue to meet on Tuesday evenings throughout the Spring and Summer. We hope that those of you who are already enjoying the class will stick with us throughout the warm weather months as our program continues to grow and develop. And if you are considering joining the class we would like to remind you that newcomers and beginners are always welcome.

Our Resources page has been turned into a complete online store where you can find and purchase specially selected books, CDs and DVDs about Afro-Cuban dance, music, religion and culture. And if you want to make some noise you can even find a wide variety of drums and percussion instruments for sale. Purchases can be made conveniently and securely through the Amazon a-Store that is embedded directly within our Resources page. Check it out!!!

There are now several new photo albums on our Multimedia page. These albums contain photos from several performances by Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo; as well as pictures from the Afro-Cuban Folkloric Dance Class. Visit our Multimedia page to browse these new photo albums; and let us know what you think.

In the next few weeks some audio and video clips of Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo will be added to the Multimedia page, so bookmark our website and remember to check back often.

The Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo website switched to its new, much faster server today. The website now opens much faster and more reliably than it has for the past two weeks; and your visits to the website should now be much more satisfying.

¡After nearly two months of hard work, the brand new Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo website went live today!

The website is still far from complete, but our priority was to get the site up and running. In the next few weeks a lot of great multimedia content will be added, so check back often. In the meantime, have a look around and let us know what you think.
